Today Kellen was evaluated by the physical therapist and occupational therapist from First Steps of Indiana. They are recommending weekly PT for his torticollis. This is great news for Kellen and for us because we've been trying repositioning and stretching exercises on our own and have seen little improvement in his favoring the right side.
The physical therapist said that she's seen many worse cases of tort, and that with therapy, Kellen should be able to get past this. That is most reassuring to me because I am a huge worrier and don't want Kellen to be different from other kids. It's hard when other babies are passing developmental milestones, and I'm seeing Kellen struggle to do things like stay balanced when he's sitting. He's such an amazing little boy though because all he wants to do is play and be his sweet self.

I work for an organization that provides early intervention for children who have developmental issues in their 2-5 years of life. Most of them actually go on to live completely normal lives and overcome their earlier issues. I think its great you guys are getting him the proper ot/pt that he needs now. The reason that many issues progress to such a perilous state is because parents are scared and don't address them early enough! I hope this helps. But I see stuff like this every day at my job and its really inspiring. XOXOXO Alice
